Private sector Axis Bank has earned a profit of Rs 3133.32 crore in the second quarter of the current financial year, which is 86 percent higher than Rs 1682.67 crore earned in the same period of the previous financial year. The bank said in the financial statement issued by the meeting of the board of directors that its total single income increased to Rs 20,134.39 crore for the quarter ended September, as against Rs 19,550 crore in the same quarter of 2020-21. The asset quality of the bank has also improved during this period. Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) at the end of September declined to 3.53 per cent of total advances from 4.18 per cent in the same period a year ago, while net NPAs rose to 1.08 per cent from 0.98 per cent during the same period.
