In Maharashtra, a man made a film story of his death to grab the insurance amount, but the police dashed his hopes. To bring his story to the end, the man first killed his lookalike, then with the help of friends tried to get the insurance amount by telling his body to be his own.
Accused had returned from America
According to the report of 'The Sun', Ahmednagar Police has arrested 54-year-old Prabhakar Bhimaji Waghchaure and four of his associates in this regard. Waghchaure had returned to India from America some time back. Here he created the drama of his death, so that he could grab $5 million of insurance money. The accused first identified a man who looked like him, then killed him by biting a cobra.
Friend arrived as nephew
The accused Waghchaure, whose murder has been identified as 50-year-old Navnath Yashwant Anap. Police told that Navnath was homeless, the accused took advantage of this. He lured the victim to a deserted area and killed him by getting him cut with a snake. After this, under the plan, a person named Praveen introduced himself as Waghchaure's nephew and told Navnath's body as Waghchaure's body.
This is how the story got suspicious
Everything was fine till now. After the post-mortem, the body was returned to Praveen for the last rites, but when questioned by the officials of the insurance company, they got suspicious. The officers informed the police and the police dug out the truth. When the police started investigating the matter, then many such things came to light one after the other, due to which his suspicion deepened.
Secrets revealed from phone record
When the police reached Rajur in Ahmednagar in search of the truth, they came to know that Praveen, who is describing himself as Waghchaure's nephew, had died last year due to Corona. After this, the police searched the phone records of Prabhakar Bhimaji Waghchaure, from which it became clear that he was alive. At present, all the accused are in the custody of the police. The main accused Waghchaure had returned only in January last year after living in the US for 20 years. He had insured 5 million dollars from the insurance company of America.
