Talgram (Kannauj): The shopkeepers of the area are doing black marketing by telling the shortage of urea fertilizer. Fertilizer vendors are charging Rs 50 to 60 more per sack from the farmers. Together they are being forced to take packets of zinc and sulphur. If they do not pay more money, they return it to the farmers. Farmers are compelled by this.
Farmers say that at this time there is a dire need of urea fertilizer for potato, wheat, mustard, top dressing of crops. Private fertilizer shopkeepers are doing black marketing in Lekar Tahpur, Amolar, Bargaon from the town. Farmers are worried about this. The rate of 45 kg urea sack is Rs 266.50. Shopkeepers are selling it for Rs 310 to 320. Usually, farmers who take one or two sacks are forced to buy fertilizers by paying more money to avoid the hassle of complaints.
On the other hand, District Agriculture Officer Avesh Kumar says that urea is available in sufficient quantity. There is stock of urea on the committees. Action will be taken by identifying the black marketers.
