New Delhi: There is good news for Indians who want to travel abroad. On Wednesday, New Zealand has approved India's Corona Vaccine (Covishield) and Covaxin. India's High Commissioner to New Zealand, Mukteshi Pardeshi, gave information about the approval of Covaxin and Kovishield by tweeting. He wrote, 'A positive decision, New Zealand has included Covishield and Covaxin in the list of 8 recognized vaccines. We are eagerly waiting for the travel ban to be lifted.
Both India's vaccines Covishield and Covaxin have got a place in the Emergency Use List (EUL) from the World Health Organization. So far, 96 countries of the world have given their approval to both these vaccines. The 96 countries include Canada, USA, Australia, Spain, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, Russia and Switzerland.
India on Monday allowed quarantine-free entry to fully vaccinated travelers from 99 countries, including the US, UK, UAE, Qatar, France and Germany. Although travelers from 99 countries are exempted from mandatory quarantine, they will have to follow certain norms which will remain the same for all passengers.
Worldwide 8 vaccines recognized
Some time ago, India's Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya told that the World Health Organization has so far recognized eight Kovid-19 vaccines. It is a matter of pride that it also includes two Indian vaccines – Covaccine and Covishield. While Covaccine has been told by Bharat Biotech, Covishield has been produced by Serum Institute of India.
The Health Minister said that countries like Canada, America, Australia, UK, Germany, France, Russia, Belgium and Switzerland are also included in the countries that have recognized both the vaccines of India. He told that now both doses of corona vaccine have been administered to more than 109 crore people in the country.
