During the ninth phase of Bihar Panchayat Election 2021, voters faced a strange situation when they reached the polling booth to cast their votes. There, the voters were being misled during the verification on the biometric machine and money was being disappeared from their bank accounts.
The matter is of booth number 145 in Chadaun of Munger Sadar block. SDO Khushboo Gupta said that apart from the Election Commission's machine, another machine has also been seized from Ravi Kumar Singh of Haveli Kharagpur. He was withdrawing from the account by misleading the voters.
The amount was withdrawn from the account of a dozen voters on Monday under the guise of biometric system at the polling station built in Chadaun Middle School located in Sadar block. After voting, when the message of withdrawal of amount from the account of the voters came on the mobile of the voters, then everyone started creating a ruckus.
On receiving the information, Sadar SDO Khushboo Gupta reached and detained the youth deputed on the biometric machine. The youth has accepted the matter of withdrawing the amount. The youth is Ravi Kumar Singh of Haveli Kharagpur.
In fact, to prevent bogus voting in Panchayat elections, on the instructions of the State Election Commission, biometric system voters' thumbs were being taken at the booths. Accused Ravi Kumar Singh was also taking Aadhar card number to the voters who came to vote at booth number-145 located at Middle School, Chadaun.
When some voters reached home after voting, a message came on their mobile about the withdrawal of the amount from their account. When the voter came to complain about it, he was driven away. Meanwhile, after three o'clock, many voters reached the booth with messages in mobile and started creating ruckus. There was chaos at the booth.
The youth was taken into custody and two biometric systems were recovered from him. One machine was given by the Election Commission, the other belonged to the accused. The accused was provided to the administration by a Common Service Center.
